Content is King! How to create content that converts.

Content is King! How to create content that converts.

You’ve heard it before…Content is King! 👑

When it comes to digital marketing, there’s no better way to grow your online audience than with a consistent calendar of original, useful content.

Of course, if you’re a small business owner, finding the time (and budget) for content creation can be intimidating. However, if you can understand your ideal client and give them useful, helpful content, they will get to know, like, and trust you.

Furthermore, we know that people tend to buy from people they like and trust.

The beauty of content creation is that there’s something for everyone, and the key is finding your own unique voice in how you communicate with your customers! Ready to get started?

Use this blog as a starting point for creative content writing ideas!

Testimonials make for great content

After you finish an interaction with a happy customer, use their feedback as content fodder that will help you win even more business.

Once you’ve asked for a customer review (check out our blog What makes customer reviews so powerful) and have received permission to use it, you have a piece of unique content that can be used across multiple platforms.

Customer reviews or testimonials are really important as a means to build trust and reputation with your target audience.

An added bonus is that a Google Business Profile with regular, high-quality reviews s website content will improve your SEO ranking, so more people will be able to find your business via search engines.

You can also use a photo editing app such as Canva and turn your testimonials into beautiful text graphics for social media!

Employee Spotlight

Your audience wants to know that there’s a face behind the name of your business. Use this as an opportunity to introduce your in-house staff and create some great content while you’re at it!

Use a tool like SurveyMonkey to build out a questionnaire of 5-10 questions that get to the heart of your employee culture.

  • What experience do they have?
  • What do they do in their spare time?
  • Do they have any pets?
  • Why do they love working at your business?
  • Create content with the answers in blogs, on social media, and in your promotional literature.  However, when promotions take place, do not forget to update the titles!

Video is great for content creation

If you aren’t using video content, you could be missing out on customers that would convert to revenue.

Video is by far one of the most preferred content formats for consumers. In fact, 66% of people would rather watch a short video to learn about a product or service than learn about it in any other way.

Videos are hugely engaging and can have a great payoff for your business.

If you’re worried about needing a degree in video production and editing to produce high-quality video content, never fear.

Nearly every social media platform comes with built-in video tools.

For example, Instagram Stories, Reels, and IGTV all offer options for you to make your own video with just your camera phone.

You can also experiment with platforms like TikTok, which is popular due to its many filters, sounds, and editing tools, or Facebook Live.

If you’d like to take your videos to the next level, opt for tools such as iMovie, Prezi or Promo, which all offer more in-depth editing software that’s easy to use!

But what should you video?

Anything you want! You don’t need actors and a script. Simply showcase your products with some fun music, or offer your audience a behind-the-scenes look at your daily work routine. Get creative, and get ready to see the leads roll in!

The easiest way to create new content? Use what you already have!

Play around with photos and editing apps like VSCO to advertise your products in a new light!

  • Are you bringing new products to the market?
  • Tease your audience and generate interest by taking a snap of the new packaging!
  • Do you offer services in specific locations?
  • Post a photo of the local high street!

Organise a Giveaway or a Contest

Contests are a great way to boost your following on social media. Everyone loves the idea of winning, and you can advertise your products and services while you’re at it! A win-win, if you ask us.

When setting up a contest, make sure you’re getting something in return. For example, if you are giving away, for example, a free consultation, make sure to post on the most appropriate social media platform and encourage your comment.

You can even turn your giveaway into a content-generating tool by having your audience share their email address in exchange for your giveaway product or service.

Just don’t forget to read the small print and make sure your contest adheres to the rules laid out by whatever social platform you’re using. Always follow best practice guidelines before you post!

Content creation is a skill and it takes time and effort to find your true voice.

At the end of the day, an impactful content strategy is rooted in authenticity and consistency.
